But now, I don’t know who that person is anymore.
I adore Mi-Young.
Okay, maybe I should say more words than that and count all the ways I love her.
I think it would be easy to dismiss her as a pushover in need of constant rescue and let her get lost in the flamboyant gestures of her husband. She is kind and selfless, which means she is hardworking.
But what I love most is the determination that puts steel in her spine. I was so worried about her going into this week. Gun had something of a mental breakdown when he realized he’d been drugged and leading men aren’t exactly known for their logic and reason.
Even when he was being cold and a bit mean to her, Mi-Young stayed true to herself. I adored the speech she gave him when he served her with the divorce contract. I like that it isn’t always easy for her to speak her mind but she does it anyway. I see so much bravery in her.
And those moments with her mother? So amazing. I loved that her mother wasn’t willing to sell her for the sake of the island just as much as I loved that her mother came to check up on her personally.
Her life isn’t easy and there are so many enemies trying to destroy her but Mi-Young hasn’t compromised a single step of the way. She’s always weighed her options and puts so much thought into her decisions before she acts.
And I think that makes her strong.
